The following shall be considered in piping arrangement around Air Fin Cooler (AFC)

1. Arrangement

a. Determination of Arrangement

-Air-fin cooler shall principally be installed near related equipment
-Space shall be secured between column or structure
-Layout for stairs, ladder, etc. to access air-fin cooler shall be studied confirming to customer’s specification at the planning of Plot Plan

b. Determination of Installation

-Air-fin cooler installation height shall be determined by adding the minimum (shortest) height between the air-fin cooler and the receiver to the receiver

installation height.
-When located on pipe rack, installation height shall be determined considering above mentioned, height and number of stages of pipe rack

2. Structure Planning

-The legs of air-fin cooler shall be aligned as much as possible, to the columns of the structure.
-For air-fin coolers plugging there tubes, the use of mobile crane shall be considered.
-For piping support, principally support shall independently be attached to the structure.
-Platform planning for maintenance

3. Piping Plan

-Plan for Manifold

a. Types of manifold

-U-type
-MU-type
-T-type

b. Selection of Manifold

-Piping Plan

4. Design Work Flow

-Advance Check
-Preparation of Conceptual Drawing
-Preparation of Piping Arrangement
-Preparation of Auxiliary Piping Arrangement of Air Fin Cooler such as drain/vent

a. STEP 1

-Checking the required documents
-Understanding the contents of basic documents
-Checking of Air Fin Cooler itself and relevant items

b. STEP 2

-Preparation of conceptual routing drawing
-Studying for the necessity of operation platform and pipe support
-Studying of basic piping plan
